Grow your Wings - from Home

Tai Chi Exercise and Moving Meditation

This is 45 min session with selected Tai-chi moves that can be done in a small space at home. The goal is to train different sets of your muscles, and to enable you to relax and recharge.
Don't shy away from Technology; Zoom is easy to use, and if you need help setting up, I can show you how!

We start with a short Chi Gong warm-up and meditation. Chi Gong is part of Chinese medicine - a massage for your energy system. The style is called Crane's Wing Chi Gong, so your arm movements will imitate 'flying' motions.

The Chi Gong is followed by basic Tai Chi exercises which will give you a soft workout, and train your coordination and balance. We will put some of the basic moves together into short sequences, where you can just go with the flow without thinking too much...

Our style is called 'Shaolin-Tai Chi'. It is related to Kung Fu, so it is half hard, half soft, and every single move has a health and a self-defence application (read more about our style). However, in the Exercise class, we won't talk about the martial art side very much. If you are interested in these aspects, would like to learn our form and get some individual feedback, please attend our live classes in West Ealing, or uor 8-weeks Zoom Beginners Course.

If you don't feel like doing the Tai Chi (or don't have space for it), you can still benefit from the mental aspects of the Martial Arts or enjoy our meditations.
We can lead you to Chi Gong and meditation exercises, and/or teach you the Hatsurei Ho meditation with mindfulness and breathing exercises.
These are currently not offered in a class format - please contact us for private or group sessions.

Health and Safety: Please read before you join.
(you agree to these terms if you join our sessions)

  • If you join our classes online or use our prerecorded sessions, you agree to take full responsibility for your health and safety. If you have any concerns about your ability to attend  you may want to talk to your doctor first.  This might be important if you have undergone recent surgery, or if you have joint problems, heart conditions, high blood pressure or any chronic illnesses.
  • You will have to create a safe, empty space in your home (no sharp edges of furniture in case you fall or bump into something).
  • With every move I will show you, you will always have to decide whether you can/want to do it or not. If a move causes you pain or make you feel out-of-balance: Don't do it. I will often show variations to moves for people with joint or balance problems. But at the end; you know your body best.
  • You won't have any insurance for your attendance.

Andrea is a certified life and leadership coach, meditation teacher, Tai Chi instructor and Reiki practitioner.
