Family and Group Sessions online

We offer online sessions for families and groups of friends, which are custom-designed to your needs (age groups, space, interests).
Sessions can contain Shaolin Tai Chi, Kung Fu, Chi Gong, guided meditations and mindfulness exercises. If you like to train more, you can also take out a monthly membership to access our online tools. More info

Tai Chi Chuan is a Martial Art that also teaches mental  principles: Focus, balance, commitment, peaceful conflict resolution, resilience.  Hence, in addition to having fun and and being engaged, your kids will learn some life lessons that might be useful long after the Lockdown is over.

How we will do it:
  • We can do a session for your core family only, who would be working out together in your living room
  • Or you can engage your larger family remotely per Zoom video-conference. Tai Chi can be done up to a very old age - so this might be ideal for your parents or grandparents...
I can set this up and help family members who are not familiar with Zoom to get started. If your family or group already uses a different online communication tool , we can use this as well

Who can participate:
  • Tai Chi Chuan can be done until late in life. We have several students in our classes who are in their eighties.
  • Children usually enjoy Tai Chi from the age of about 12, for smaller kids, it is sometimes a bit too slow and repetitive. However, I can show them a few Kung Fu moves as well to keep them excited...
  • You need some open space where you can train without running into furniture; so the number of participants in one room may be limited. Every participant should be able to make about four steps forward/back, and one step to the side.
  • If you have any health problems (high blood pressure, chronic illness, joint problems, recovering from surgery, etc), talk to a medical professional before you join.
  • Read more about Health and Safety below.

About Andrea:
Andrea is a certified Tai Chi Chuan and Kung Fu instructor and offers classes in West London.  In her professional life, she  has worked with teams in an international context for over 30 years and knows how to engage groups (online). Read more.
Timing:
The teaching time is one hour. Your Zoom meeting will be open 15 minutes in advance, and 15 minutes after the session, so you can use it for some social time. Your total Zoom time is 1.5 hours.

Cost:
  • If it is just your core family in one room:  £60
  • If remote members join in per Zoom: £80 for up to 8 participants remotely.
Note: If there are more than 3 participants, you will only get limited individual feedback.
For work teams, corporate rates apply. If you are interested in team sessions, please inquire.

Concessions:

For the financially challenged,  I will offer family/group lessons on a 'pay-what-you-can' basis. However, the minimum price is £40 to cover my costs.

Health and Safety: Please read before you join.
(you agree to these terms if you join our sessions)

  • If you join our classes online or use our prerecorded sessions, you agree to take full responsibility for your health and safety. If you have any concerns about your ability to attend  you may want to talk to your doctor first.  This might be important if you have undergone recent surgery, or if you have joint problems, heart conditions, high blood pressure or any chronic illnesses.
  • You will have to create a safe, empty space in your home (no sharp edges of furniture in case you fall or bump into something).
  • With every move I will show you, you will always have to decide whether you can/want to do it or not. If a move causes you pain or make you feel out-of-balance: Don't do it. I will often show variations to moves for people with joint or balance problems. But at the end; you know your body best.
  • You won't have any insurance for your attendance.
We would love to hear from you.
